We have several customers with IPO 500's using SIP for their incomming lines. I know faxing doesn't really work well over SIP and I've read some posts that say that G711 will help but I'm looking for some exact suggestions here.
Is there any way to:
a) use the IPO to route faxes through to some other Avaya or 3rd party device and out to an analog fax machine?
- and/or -
b) use the IPO to route faxes to email (either natively or through a 3rd party device or software). Most of the customers have enough vDIDs to assign each employee their own fax number.
One other key thing I should mention is that NONE of the IPO 500s are located at the customers' sites. We have all the IP 500s at a datacenter and are using MPLS to connect their offices to the datacenter. So putting anything in the IPO 500 (i.e. a 4-Port Analog Card) and expecting to connect it to something locally at the customer is not possible.
Suggestions anyone?
Thanks,
