We have a 200ICP. We are trying to use the system in conjucution with a fax server (VISIFAX) so we can set up about 20 of our DIDs as fax numbers each with a corresponding email address. this way, outsiders can fax our employees documents and the fax server would convert to email.
For the 20 DIDs we would have 5 analog/ONS extensions/ports coming from the MITEL into the fax server. We would also set up a hunt group with the analog ext nos.
The fax server can be programmed so that when it recieves the last 4 digits of the DID, it will find the corresponding email address and email the document.
The challenge is that we don't have simple way to provide the fax server with the last 4 digits of the DID.
Here's what we have done so far...1) Set up a speed dial for each of the 20 DIDs as: pilot ext. no of the huntgroup, a few pauses and the last 4 nos of the DID. 2) On Form 55 use last 4 digits of DID to correspond to speed dial number above.
The result is someone sends a fax using one of our DIDs, the call hits the Mitel form 55 which sends to the fax server. The fax server answers and a few second later, the 4 digits are "dialed" (almost as if done manually.)
The above works but it seems like the MITEL should just be able to send last 4 digits of the DID to the fax server without "dialing" them. IN other words, just send a an electronic signal to the fax server.
Any help to simplify/improve this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
