I've got an MICS 6.1 using PRI. I'm trying to find out if anyone has interfaced a Brooktrout card with a similar setup. The end goal here is to have a block of DID's setup to point at a fax server which can email faxes to the user assigned to a specific DID. I'm planning on using FaxServe, but I assume the software doesn't matter. Brooktrout says they have an Analog (TR114) card and a Digital (TR1034) Card. If I'm going to use analog and I just buy an analog station module for the MICS. But does anyway know how exactly the digital card would interface with the PBX? Thanks for any help.

I've done using a T1 interface card ...but i did only the n* part of the setup.

CO -> PRI -> Norstar -> T1 -> FaxServer

The most likely digital scenario would be to buy the ISDN-BRI version of the TR1034. It would interface to a 4-port ISDN-U card in the MICS. That would give you 8 channels for fax calls to the Brooktrout.

I have a similar setup--MICS 6.1, PRI, and ISDN-U card connected to a BRI modem card for inbound dial-up network access (X2 speeds). In my case, one DID number hunts through all 8 channels (DNs). One concern--I don't know if the MICS can pass along the DID dialed (i.e. target line) to the Brooktrout via the BRI in a form it can recognize. If not, you'd have to use a channel for each fax number (which is what you would have to do with analog).

If you have so much call volume that you need a full T-1 for the faxes, you could just skip the MICS.
