I'm investigating the possibility of setting up fax routing for specific departments of the business. For example, I would like those faxes directed to the finance department, to appear in the personnel/staff’s email client (outlook).

I was wondering whether the BCM 400 is capable of doing this? I've had a look at the unified messaging software (free with the BCM), and it appears to allow the sending of faxes via an email client, but doesn't appear to facilitate the receiving/routing of incoming faxes to specific mailboxes.

Has anybody had experience of this, or perhaps has managed to setup something similar with the free software that accompanies the BCM 400? Perhaps there's an alternative solution, you've managed to implement?

AFAIK, Unified Messaging is not free
You'll need to get the license for Fax Messaging (also not free) - then all UM Clients can do fax messaging

work with your vendor - the trial licenses are free and then if it works out can buy them

Our those trial licenses already on the BCM? If so how many can you roll out at once?

Do you know if it's possible to assign a mailbox to a fax machine (using callpilot etc)? at least this way we could retrieve the faxes directly from an email client on the desktop using unified messaging.

There not on the BCM, you need to get them from your Vendor and they only work for about 30 days.

Thanks my friend, i'll try and get some trial licenses.
