I am currently using Winfax Pro to receive faxes.

My faxes arrive fine, but every so often one of the faxes will fail. When you check the fax, only half of the fax is there.

Any idea's?

Thanks

Do you have call waiting on that line? Frequently if you are receiving a fax and a call waiting alert comes in, the fax will abort midstream.

If not, is there anything common to the faxes that fail? Are they all over 3 pages? Do they fail between pages or in the middle of pages? Is it always incoming from the same fax machine?

Error is always unable to establish a connection.

The very same fax will come through again straight away without any problems.

Thanks

My first guess would always be simply a "noisy" connection, but that is the coward's way out.

Is it possible that you are trying to negotiate your connections at 14.4K by default and some 9.6K Group III faxes are stepping down out of sequence with you?

I don't recall if there is a worthwhile logging function in
WinFax Pro or not. I'd be looking for something of that nature, just a simple speed negotiation issue.
