This may be beyond the scope here but "nothing ventured nothing gained" I'm looking for any kind of programming or other documentation for a Canon "Fax L777" fax machine, it is dialing somebody in error, and I don't have any manuals

did that, also called the canon parts people, so I suspect I might be SOL in that reguard unless somebody has a copy they can E-mail

I just searched canon myself- and found no mention of it.
How old of a fax is it? What is it doing exactly? Most faxes I have programmed have been accessible from the menu buttons and display, and most have not required the manual once you get in there and look around at the menu. Have you tried that with any success?

I would estimate this fax to be between 5 & 7 years old it is dialing a number that is somebody voicemail, I'm not sure of how often it is happening or what triggering it to dial this person, as the fax was hand written saying saying they had been getting fax's for the last 3 years also the front Panel is Not what i would call "user friendly" to figure out what the autodialing numbers are
I think I will tell the user to unplug it when hes not expecting any fax's (or just turn it off till I can get out there and figure it out)

This is not a real solution, but if the fax line is routed through a PBX, perhaps you can manipulate the outbound dialed digits so that the misrouted fax never leaves the PBX.

customers never seem to have the manual and I have always been able to ptogram what I need
it may take awhile but they understand up front thats its billable at the hourly rate , honestly Id rather sit and hack a fax than pull cable.

might also try posting on some DIY boards more users there and possibly some one has a copy.

you could also put the fax behind a line sharing device or your phone switch that required a 9 for outgoing acess (or order centrex for the line )

I called the World of Fax and they said they had the "operation, Maintenance & service manual" for the L-700 series which is what I wanted to find, Thanks Dexman
:) Once On site we can figure out/Clear out any "erronous" entry's
