Hi everyone, I am hoping some one can assist with this. I know there are a ton of CLID questions and have been combing through them and trying different things.

Here is my problem
We have fax press installed and everything works however the out bound CLID is showing the DID for security 5880. Now this is connected to a TIE trunk so I can not get dchan messages from it. I can see out bound messges from my local trunks. The message shows the number called but not the calling number.
If I try an internal dn the display shows the trunk ID. So here is my question. Why would the out bound caller ID always be the 5880 number? I would have thought it would send the LDN. Is there something I should look at to change this?

Thanks for reading.

you should be able to build a new entry in the clid table in ld 15 net data to pass what ever you want to pass, do you need help doing this?

Thanks,

Buddy

I tried that, well sort of. Here is the issue. Faxpress doesn't actually have extensions built. i have a range of DID's that I have CDP to it. So if a call comes in to 3333 the PBX sends it to faxpress. The 3333 is assigend to a person. I have traced the route member, the local route member, even the internal dn and it only shows the number dialed. Never the calling number. That is what is throwing me off. I tried to create a new CLID entry and changed the CLEN on the route to that entry but that didn't work.

That is all your going to be able to get since you are coming across on a Tie Trunk, your CLID in LD 15 works from a prompt on the phone. You can check the NET_DATA and see if the CLID being sent is 5880, if it's not in there then the Central Office is sending it.

Perrypj,
Thanks for that I did prt net data and there is nothing there that shows 5880. It will suck if I have been banging my head against the wall and its coming from the carrier.

I tried that as well. I am going to have to take it to my NOC just to be sure. I know there are some great minds here so I thought I would throw it out here first.

post your clid table... you need one that either has did yes (per example) or one that displays a common fax dn (example two)

Code:
ENTRY 5
  HNTN 803
  ESA_HLCL
  ESA_INHN NO
  ESA_APDN YES
  HLCL 43
  DIDN YES
  HLOC
  LSC
  CLASS_FMT DN

this one shows 803 43 plus the 5 digit dn
Code:
ENTRY 4
  HNTN 803
  ESA_HLCL
  ESA_INHN NO
  ESA_APDN YES
  HLCL 5551212
  DIDN NO
  HLOC 434
  LSC 434

this one shows 803 555 1212, on the echg just enter dn 1234 4.. that would assign clid table 4 to the dn..

if that does not wrok EVERY time, you need to contact your carrier.. in some cases, they ignore clid and sub a number that has been agreed to

John,
I am not using shysical or phantom extensions. I am using cdp to sent the DID to Fax press. From the traces, D channel messages, I am not seeing the calling number, I do see called number. I believe the answer is the local carrier.

Hello Everyone,
Just a follow up and a thank you to all the suggestions. It seems the customer had requested, the carrier send the 5880 number, even thought the main billing number is the 5800. There was an issue with users dialing 911 and the billing number was sent. The VP with that number didn't like haveing to talk to the 911 operator all the time.

Again thanks to all for the thought and suggestions put into this issue. As I said there are a lot of great minds here!!!!
