I have managed to get Fas working on an ip500 over sip. It is a bit iffy, I am using dial 64k as dial and dial fax would not work. Can anyone advise on a decent setuo? I am using voipbuster.

Are you running a different codec for regular calls vs. fax calls?

voice and sip both set to auto, same line. should i be using dial 64k or????

Are you trying to dial Dial64 for Fax using SIP trunks

Dial64K is purely an ISDN feature

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

According documents you must use dial fax OR set the analog station as fax type.

That is only for T.38 though intrigrant. If he doesn't have support for T.38 on his SIP trunks that wont help as the IP Office doesn't seem to want to go back and renegotiate G.711 if the T.38 INVITE fails. You should try manually setting your CODEC to G.711 and testing.

Don't think voipbuster supports T.38 but you could try to set the send/receive speed to 9600baud on the fax.

In my experience for it to work correctly, the provider has to configure the DID you want to use as uncompressed for use as an inbound/outbound fax number.
