Hi. We have an issue about our fax machine. When dialed by a phone we get a fax tone. But when we use a fax machine there's no answer. This fax machine is intended for receiving and sending fax from outside. Anyone have an idea about this?

Normally on fax problems we stop at the fax. Put your buttset on the jack and make calls. Have someone call you and answer it on your buttset. You also may want to status the station and make sure it's not call forwarded.

Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something.

you didn't say what kind of system, or what version of CM you have.

If it's CM5, on the station form, there is now a place to tell it the type of analog device on page 1, under "station Options", "XOIP Endpoint type:", the choices are now: auto, fax, modem, tty

This forces CM into the correct mode, for the device... If you have CM5, try changing it to "fax", if not, you have another issue.

If you are getting a fax tone and it is not printing a fax, maybe there is a problem with the fax machine receiving.

Check the mode of the fax machine.
