I have a epson CX5800F which is a all in one scanner/copy/fax and when recieving fax's it is "streakie" i.e. chunks are Missing vertically when looking at the fax, However If I print a test page from the PC that is attached, it prints everything just fine,
I have changed the ink cartridges with no effect,
the machine itself is about 7 months old, my only thought is swapping the machine out to see what happens, any other thoughts,

I had a fax do that once , wound up using it for send only , it would send fine just didn't print right on receive

I don't see it being a line issue I would say it has to be the fax . Interesting that it prints fine but with these all in one machines who knows how they've configured things

I agree with swapping out the unit to see if that resolves the problem. [thumbsup2]

Sometimes there is a glass inside where the light is and the paper runs through that needs to be cleaned... or maybe a roller...

well putting a different fax on the same line work fine in recieving/sending, so i can clearly dismiss any thing with the line and the location, there isn't any local dealers around, I'm thinking it may just end up being a send only machine, or just used to print from the local pc it's hooked up to

Many stand-alone fax machines are inexpensive.

If the budget allows, would it be worthwhile to purchase a dedicated machine and use the Epson all-in-one for other tasks? [ponder]

Does the PC the AIO is connected to have a FAX MODEM installed?

If so, why not use it for receiving faxes, that way you only print the ones you want (save paper), and you can print many if needed or resend digitally and have "perfect" copies.

Hope this helps!
