Fax machine cannot use COS

i have a BCM 400 4.0 with fax machines connected via ATA. flash + * + 981 for voicemail works. but for F68 for COS it cannot. i have 2 BCM 400 that have this problem.

are analog phones' access to features limited?

Give your ATA a restriction filter "00". Is there a reason why the fax has to be restricted?

I couldn't find an analog telephone user guide for 4.0, but I did find one for 3.7 and for 50r3.0.
Neither shows COS being supported on an analog device.

The fax has to be restricted to make international calls but there are times that they need to send fax to international numbers.

there just a dial tone after flash * 68 but not the stuttered dial phone you hear when doing the normal COS.

i have an analog telephone user guide but the feature 68 was not there. is it not there because the analog phones dont support all the features because the feature 981 has no problems? i hope not

Yep.
Analog sets only support limited features.

Maybe you can create a restriction filter to block all international calls but use override to those allowed.

Hard to believe FAX is still used so much with all the advancements in technology.
Why not scan and email?

apparently there are still some who still uses the analog fax machine even though they have UM.

the F68 now works. i just changed the ATA device to Telephon in the ATA settings in the capabilities and preference tab. other values are in default. i dont know if that is really the solution or we just dont know how to make it work before.

upon lifting the handset, press flash. you will not hear a dial tone after this. press *68. now there will be a dial tone but not stuttered. then press the COS password then destination code.
