As I understand it we need to do the following for programming:

-Configure dial tone for the dest code chosen
-If busy use busy tone
-make sure no 2nd appearnces etc per target(one speech path)
-PRI access/prime

Main question is related to DS and CLID.
They have an ASM8 NT5B16AAAJE5 on site and thinking this is old style?
Am I correct when I say they above is not a PLUS therefore will not work well for faxes and that they need an ASM8 PLUS which provides the DS and CLID?

BCM 400 4.0

Thanks

I haven't had any issues with DS on the old ASM8 when using it on PRI, only on analog trunks. I think you'll be ok. I've done several of these conversions recently and only had a problem with one machine out of six at a particular site. It was dropping connections on long faxes and was probably the machine itself. The customer was going to call the fax machine vendor and I haven't received a call back so that must have been it.

I don't recall ever checking for caller ID but it shouldn't matter on fax as the sending machine imprints the sending number on the fax. Maybe if you had a single line set with a display you may want it though.
