Hi,

I have a release 5.5 CS1000E issue with certain fax machines not being able to send or receive. Has anyone else had any issues or know of any areas of prgramming that may affect fax machines?

Thanks

On the TN you can try cls faxa and/or cls mpta.
Also check the fax machine programming as you may have to limit the maximum transmission rate.

can you FAX internally to another FAX on same loop/shelf. And are outbound trunks in same cab or different.

this would tell us if problem to PBX or external source - like T1 clocking or TDM to IP between cabinet - etc.

I've just tested a fax to fax on the same MG and that works correctly. It appears to be when the call goes either to the carrier or to another MG. FAXA and MPTA were already set on the CLS.

if you do a FAX to FAX from one MG to another and it fails most likely all your problems are in the TDM to IP conversion.

If this is the case, Might want to make sure your patches and MG loadware is up to date.

Also a workaround would be to place FAX's in same MG as outgoing trunks.

Take a look at your outgoing pri's in ld 60 (lcnt x) and check for slips. Faxes are notorious for not working when there are slips/errors on the pri.

Does anyone know if any of the tones and cadences setting could affect fax machine? Also there are some flash timers in LD 97, could anything like that affect them? MG to MG faxing is still no successful.
