Need help please.

Our company just got a Xerox M128 workcentre. One of the features they promote is the fax from desktop feature. Can I use the Windows fax utility? If so how do I configure it to discover our fax machine on our network? I assumed there would be a Xerox client application to install on our users PC's but I've looked through all of our packet info/software and there's nothing of the sort. I even searched online for Fax from Desktop clients and all I found was local type setups. None of the software I found seemed capable of configuring it to a network fax machine.

Any help would be so much appreciated! Thanks!

call the Xerox support number and select software support and they should be able to help you with out any problems

Thanks XeroxTech for the tip. I did call and they offered up support and resolved my issue. Problem is that they suggested that next time I go through our local contact in which they generally don't have answers. Nonetheless it appears our fax from desktop issue was a driver one. The tech who came out installed the PS driver knowing full well we planned to utilize the fax from desktop module. Go figure.

I do have a second question regarding this feature and if anyone can help it would be MUCHO appreciated. :)

How do I send a fax from desktop with a cover letter? My fax machine is on the network so in order to send a fax, we were told to use the file-print-select fax/printer-then prefences(to change to fax)then send. Problem is it just sends the page WITHOUT a cover letter. I'm researching this as we speak but if anyone has a clue please nudge me along.

Thanks ppl!

create a two page document with the first page being the cover page.

Is there another way? This should be an option I would think would already be integrated.

you can call Xerox back and ask them i do not know of any other way.

Have tried but will try again. Thanks.
