running a magix 3.0 system with 016ETR cards and 0412TDL cards.

I'm trying to put an extension on for a fax so the automated attendant automatically transfers the faxes to that extension. Also the fax should dial out without dialing a 9.
Everytime I try and enter on the 16ETR card an extension for the fax, the system just beeps and doesn't accept the input.

OK, with an ETR card, you have to use one of the TOP (LAST) 6 Ports for a Fax.

That being said, you also have to define the one you use as a T&R Extension.

Once you do that, you should be able to tell the MAGIX the extension is a FAX Extension.

When that is done, you now have to tell the Voice Mail it is a Fax extension as well.

how do i tell the Voice Mail (messaging 3.0) that is is a fax extension?

how do I get change an extension that has transfer only privaledges?

thanks.

How do you program the system to allow the fax direct access to outside lines without dialing a 9?

How to tell the Voice Mail (messaging 3.0) that is is a fax extension:

Dial into the Messaging:

Log in as administrator, and dial 9.

Dial 3 for auto atttendants, and then dial 7.

She will tell you what to do next.

How do you program the system to allow the fax direct access to outside lines without dialing a 9?

First, under Extensions, Lines & Trunks, assign the DIAL OUT POOL.

Second, under CENTRALIZED PROGRAMMING, enter the Extension number, Press any buttons, Dial *14, press the POOL BUTTON, and then press ENTER.

That should do it!

Remember to set that pool "button" to NO RING, or the Fax will start answering all your incoming calls!

When a fax comes thru instead of going to the fax extension it goes back to the operator, any suggestions?

Well, the FAX EXTENSION only works when it goes to an AUTO ATTENDANT.

So how is this call getting there?

Does the AA answer all calls?

Can it?

That's how one of my clients has their system set up, (AA Answers all) so any fax call goes to the Fax Machine.

We have the same issue, all calls are answered by the AA, then routed to the fax machine, and imediately back to the operator. Even when you dial the fax extension internally the AA transfers you to the operator. Any suggestions?

I would go into STANDARD SPM and print the FAX EXTENSION (Print > More > Extension Information > Extension NUMBER)

And then look that over and see what is up with that extension.

ALSO, have you told VOICE MAIL that it is the FAX EXTENSION for the AA you are using it for?
