Just thought I would pass this update along. I moved an old .Net program to a new 2012 server and was getting the "80070483" error when RDP users were trying to fax from the program. The Admin user worked fine. I read many online references that said this was a file association problem. Of course I didn't believe them. The body of my fax is coming from a text file (.txt) I create from within the program and gets deleted after the fax is sent. I removed the deletion and sure enough when I tried to open the text file I got the dialog asking me to identify which program I wanted to open it with. After I picked Notepad and tried to fax again it worked. I'm not sure what the default is on the new server, and possibly the installation of other programs deleted or altered the association. It's working now. BTW I had to make this association change for each user.
