Fax Auto transfer, 308EC required in slot 1?

I have a Partner ACS V6, and 308EC R3.0. I'm using a two slot carrier. The programming book says that in order for automatic transfer of fax calls to the fax extension to work, you must have the ACS only or if your using a carrier, the 308EC version 2 must be in slot one. Since I only have a two slot carrier instead of the 5 slot carrier, does it make a difference if the ACS is in the first slot and the 308EC is in the second slot? Is my 308EC R3.0 a version 2?

Auto fax transfer should work with your system. You must know that one of the current voicemail systems (Partner Voice Messaging in your case) MUST answer the incoming call for this to work properly. Or a human can answer and manually transfer when they hear the fax CNG tone. Good luck.

Hi chiptransisto,
I notice you are using a two slot carrier. I recommend you change to a five slot before you bake your system. We have lost 100% of our systems installed in a two slot and refuse to use them now. Your call.

mforrence is correct, although the CNG detect is on the card. In other words, the feature should work even with another voicemail product. I do know that the old Partner messaging separates work fine. But you have a PVM card, right? It'll work as well.
