Has anyone found a solution to the following thread: thread705-1346398. Like DatabaseDude, I searched the site referenced by kjv1611 and did not find quite what I am looking for. Yet there were 1000s of results from my search so maybe I just could not find the right combination to come up with the right article. Like DatabaseDude, I want to
1) create an Access report (Access 2003);
2) Attach a coversheet with info extracted from the Access 2003 database;
3) have the user click a button and send the coversheet and Report to whatever fax number the user has selected on an Access form.
We have Windows 2003 Small Business Server and want to use its fax service. There are several workstations that would be using the Access database application to send the faxes. How can this be done within Access and VBA without 3rd party software, if at all? BTW, the workstations have Office/Access 2003 and are running Windows Vista. Creating the report is not the issue. Its the faxing of the report that is the issue for me.
Thanks much!

It's been a few years since I worked with SBS 2003, but I believe you just have to dump your report to a rtf format,set a reference to the Word 2003 object lib, and then use the Word object lib to import a cover sheet and the rtf into a word document you then display to the user or use code to send it. It's a pretty involved project if you want it highly automated. Most companies just put out the coin for eFax. Given that fax is going the way of the dinosaur, few people want to invest time and money when you can easily send Access reports out via email.

Thanks! I'll check into this. The part about using code to send/fax the doc is where I'm ignorant. Do you have any sample code or know where to get it? We have Microsoft Exchange server for sending faxes and I'm trying to become familiar with it, so maybe I can use that. My thought is to setup the Access report to print to a Windows Fax "printer." Then, I hope to be able to set up contacts so that the user can select the contact she wants and it will send the fax to an associated fax number.

I am not familiar with eFax, so I will check that out, too.

Thanks, again.
