HI Does anyone know where FAVORITES are stored, on the local hard drive?
Thanks,
Pete

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Favorites

This is the standard for XP at least...

thanks, how to then get them back so that when you click on the FAVORITES tab, they appear?

I don't know if I'm understanding you correctly. What is it you are trying to accomplish?

Sorry I have to locate where these favorites have been moved to. This was for a user who had her PC reset.

There is also:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Favorites

For all users.

What do you mean by "had her PC reset"?
If the computer was re-imaged or the disk re-formatted and the operating system re-installed, the favorites are GONE.

Yes they are gone but I hope the network admin copied them somewhere.

I seriously doubt they did. For future reference, before "resetting" the PC, have the user export their favorites to a network or personal drive. Then after resetting they can simple import them back in.

To do this from IE simply click file, then select import and export and follow the prompts.
