Hi Folks,

We're hoping to be doing some outsourced admin for a bunch of customers soon. Anyone have a favorite admin tool (comparisons with Sybase Central would be useful). I talked to Embarcadero about DB Artisan (which I used a bit some years back--pretty nice as I remember).

I'm interested to hear what others have liked/disliked.

Thanks.

I am using DBArtisan and it is pretty nice. I like it better than Sybase Central, but not sure it is the same for other tool. If I open 2 session windows it will consume all my virtual memory and all hang. I have to kill the application and reopen it.

DBArtisan is pretty expensive and now they use "computer ID" and "session ID" to certify your software, if you open another session even on the same computer, it won't work, it requires another license.

That doesn't sound good! I'll have to ask specifically about that. Thanks for the tip. As always when I end up evaluating products like this, I want to write my own tool. J M Craig
