favicon not show

Hi,

I have an icon name favicon.ico in my root directoty. I place this tag in my default.asp page

<link REL="SHORTCUT ICON" HREF="

http://mysite.com/favicon.ico">

but the icon didn't show at URL bar.

Can you tell me what I am missing here?

Nothing new there then!

you must be using IE then. It will only work (sometimes) in IE if you bookmark the page, close the browser and open the url again. It probably won't work for other pages in the site though sometimes it might, and at some random time in the future it will stop working completely and if you are lucky clearing the cache and re-bookmarking might get it working again.

However on the positive side Firefox and NS don't usually have a problem.

Thank you. So I guess favicon is not reliable on IE heh?
