350 wat psu

at least once a week the psu starts reaching very hot temperatures after about 45 minutes of running the system it automatically switches the pc off
if i reboot after 1 hour returns to normal state
strong feeling psu faulty

Check it for dust build-up inside. Either vacuum through the fan or open it up & vacuum. If you open it up,
BE CAREFUL!

open the unit up cleaned it stilll same problem
i have a k7s5a mobo 1600xp cpu what size should the psu be
currently 350watts

The fan probably stopped working or is failing. I would replace the Power Supply. Here is a link to help figure your power consumption. Plan for any future upgrades and don't scimp. I wouldn't go with anything less than your current wattage. $50-$75
