Please explain to me what steps should be taken to restore a faulty IPE shelf?

what do you mean by faulty ? Dead? no power to shelf

It's only dialtone-VZ

if it's just down (soft). then go to ld 97 and print the xpe's.. is the xpe disabled for that shlef? if not go to ld 32 dsxp x, ld 97 tells you which xpe is assigned to that loop.. disl x x enll x enxp x and look for sdl100 to complete the down load to that network controller..

if it's will not come up disable both the xpe then the loop. if you have power, replace the network card and then the controller and repeat the enable commands

if your using both ports 0 and 1, in ld 97 you can print the supl's as well. the xpe is faster if the display on the card is flashing, that number is the xpe.. the network card is numbered backwards, j1 connects to loop 1 j2 connects to loop 0.. the disl takes the controller down, and dsxp takes the network card down and both loops IF your using x 0 and the x 1 side of that supl
