fatal scsi error at script address 8 illegal instruction 1

I have a sun fire 280 which i have added a pci graphics card into. All seams to be running ok until i have tried to add a DLT SCSI drive. when i change to the OK prompt where i run a probe-scsi-all. when i do this i get a fatal scsi error at script address 8 illegal instruction error so i have removed the DLT drive and tried this again and i get the same. Please help!

I installed my PCI ultrascsi host adapter on a Sunblade 100 and got no problems when I run probe-scsi-all at OK. I installed Veritas Netbackup and connected my L7 DLT tape backup unit. I ran backups with no problems for a day. The next morning I got scsi error. Ran probe-scsi-all at OK prompt and got the same error ginger32 is getting (Fatal SCSI error at script address 8 Illegal instructions). Is my scsi card dead?

There are a couple of bug reports in SunSolve (1224440 and 1221085 for example) which refer to a "retained memory" bug in OBP. The solution was to power off the machine for at least a minute before powering back on again.
