I have a customer who is trying to run Autocad 2002 on a pentium 4 workstation running Windows
XP Professional SP1.
Nvidia Quadro 2EX graphics card.
After installing Autocad 2002 they receive the following error when opening the application.

FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Writing 0x0000 Exception at 77dd19dah

Windows XP Professional then reports the following fault:

Appname: assist.exe
Appver: 15.0.6.30

Does any of this appear to be normal in your opinion ?

Could this be related to the default size of the operating systems swap file ?

Any tips or hints as to what might be causing this issue to manifest itself would be most appreciated.

Best regards,

It doesn't make sense with what Autodesk has to say about that error:
Issue
When you create linear dimensions and specify the center point of a circle as one or more of the points, the following error messages are displayed:

Exception in c:\program files\autocad 2002\acdim.arx ARX Command
Unhandled Exception C0000005 (Access Violation Reading 0x0000). at address 7*******h

Solution
This problem occurs when creating linear dimensions in paper space in layouts if you use the Center object snap to select the center points of circles in model space.

To work around the problem:

When the center point AutoSnap™ marker is displayed, select the circle, instead of the center point.

Make sure the active assistant is turned off. It may be causing some problem.
