Helpppp!!!!! I've just started having this error this afternoon.

When I try to open some of my reports in either design view or print preview I receive a fatal error dialog box instead: "The instruction at <hexademical address> referenced memory at <hexadecimal address>. The memory could not be written."

This seems to be happening with several of my databases. Not every report is affected however.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Sounds like you installed a program that may have overwritten an access dll. Any new programs, updates installed? You can run a scandisk and see if there are any errors, and you can also rerun setup in an attempt to put the dll back to normal.

Thanks for the tip, Joe. I have installed two programs today. Winzip and gif89.dll which I found in a faq here to allow animated gifs in Access.

I don't think WinZip is the culprate (spelling?) since I've used it many times before, but I'm not so sure about the gif dll. I've since uninstalled it, but the problem remains. I'll try scandisk next.

Unfortunately, I can't re-install Access, since the LAN guys here at my company have all the master installation disks. (I'll be dragging one of them over here next.)
