Hello to the nice legacy experts

I was happily replacing two DVD-RAM units in a 8.x logger system, which is used only to retrieving due to legal requirements.
the logger worked fine for almost one week, but... stopped working suddenly, i got this from logs...

FATAL: DBM: CN_CheckAudFileEvents: Negative QuietBuffers value in last event: Audfile, QuietBuffer 152906 -78 7:45 PM

FATAL: DBM: BUFF_CalculateBuffersFromTimeDuration: Problem in time_computeHighResTimeDiff: Start/End Date

among others --- i got if from the screen capture, the word fatal an buffer appears several times.

is there something a tecnician can do?
since this platform is quite old, got to ask for the community help.

Thanks in advance

Seem I will become an expert in sunset products...

I reinstalled logger, first keeping audio files, later deleting audio files, it worked for about 1 day retrieving, later crashed again, i got some interesting logs.... look at

(this seems to repeat, regardless of if the logger is reinstalled or not, about a day later)

this fatal error survived the operating system re-install

could it be a physical error?

Hi IPOpotamus

Please chekk if you have a service called N+1service running on the logger.

Also chekk the logger software version 8.xx.xx.xx or 9.xx.xx.xx
You can se the number if you have visible windows, in the logfiles or by looking at the installation package.

Regards Johan

a moment for thanking JohanEikeland for the tip.

Well, this old machine has been keeping giving headaches.

as after a clean reboot triggered from the nice administrator the logger never started again.

I let about 2 to 3 days to give it time to start.

the log is full of "dbm.dll" fatal errors, so I reinstalled the logger with the option to DELETE AUDIO FILES, and seems it was the fix for the problem, now the machine is ok again.
