I get a BOD (Bluescreen Of Death) from Windows 2000, and it points to Diskperf.sys as being the problem, recommending that I disable it. I have tried renaming both copies of diskperf.sys that exist on this machine, but Windows gripes, and says they are system files which are needed.

How do I disable this .sys file, or it's representative service? Any thoughts?

Thanks

Diskperf controls the types of counters that can be viewed using System Monitor. diskperf -nd disables counter for physical drives ( -nv for logical ).

Look toward windows help "diskperf" to find all available options. Good luck! -md
