Ive just installed XP on my main system and changed over to NTFS on my Master HDD, but my Slave drive is still on Fat32. Can I convert the Slave to NTFS without having to copy all the data off first? Will the conversion format the drive?

I say it will, my colleague says it won't!

Cheers,

Rob.

You can safely do this with XP's convert command (convert x: /FS:NTFS, where x: is drive concerned). It won't format the drive, in the sense of wiping it.

PS. I say safely - but I'd backup anything I couldn't afford to lose - any partition updating process can go wrong (this one never has for me, but...).
