I am trying to stablish connnection from an AIX box 5.2 to a SAN fastT600. I have already assign the drives in the SAN but I can't see the in AIX. When I run lsdev -C|grep adapter I get dar0 and dar1 to be defined as well as dac0 and dac1 they are also defined. Can some tell me how do I get them to be available.

Thanks.

Make these adapter available by running
mkdev -l dar0
mkdev -l dar1 [to make it available to system]

If the cfgmgr hasn't made them available, your are missing sth.(perhaps certain filesets specific for fcs? Most likely drivers for the fcs are missing)

The fact that your are seeing 2 routers ( dar0 and dar1) isn't well either.check the wwpn adresses for your fcs cards, and check in your storage manager if they are set correctly
the wwpn should be set as 10000000...
Then do an rmdev -dl for the fcs0 fcs1 dar0 dar1 dac0 dac1 , and run cfgmgr again, this should solve the 2 routers problem

After the above, I believe you should have 1 dar, dar0, the fastt controller, and 2 dac's, the two interfaces into the fastt, one on each of the fibre paths into the fastt.
Is that correct RMGBELGIUM ?

indeed, that should be the case.We did tests with FASt600 , and had the same problems. The WWPN wasn't correctly configured in the storage manager client software, and under AIX it kept giving 2 dar's and 2 dac's
