Can two Windows 2003 Non Clustered machines access and write to the same partition on the FastT600? Has anyone used it in this way?

You can use IBB software (SAN-filesystem) for this, but it requires to have one more metadata-server.
Or You can use third-part software for this. E.g. Sanbolic MelioFS ( ). This solution to not require any metadata-server.

Did a similar thing on a IBM DS400 and mostly worked.
Created a Logical Drive and allowed both Win2003 server to access volume.

If I formated the disk as Fat32 then no real issues and both machine where faitly happy about sharing disk.

NTFS caused issues as permission sets get messy.
Machine 1 sets up a permission set, Machine 2 cannot regars permission sets as being junk because the SID ID's are not it it's SAM DB so u end u with permission oddities.

hi,
there is no problem: FAStT or a shared SCSI bus can
share the same partition to 2 or 3 and 4 hosts.

The problem is that before or after your systems will crash.
If you use NTFS it will appen before, with Fat32 after!

Have you never attached two keyboards to a machine ? Today using USB it is possible, and also 2 mouses; if you have 2 chairs, you can put also 2 persons to work with the same video: it works fine technically speaking, but I don't want know what is written in the same Word document;
try with two women: the result may be straightforward !

bye
