I have a large number of bounced emails and it is taking a long time to search for each one and then delete it. It takes about 2 minutes per bad email and I have several hours worth to delete.

Are you sending bulk or individually? That is indeed the slowest search in the database. We have gone to using a service called CoolerEmail ( that has a link to ACT! built by pinpointtools (
It allows creation of HTML email newsletters and the like using a Word-like interface, very simple and good-looking! CoolerEmail has numerous tools that track your emails and allows you to deal with bounced emails in a number of ways.
Since it synchs with ACT!, its just a matter of a weekly synch once you have updated your database online. It may be a long way around to your problem, but it is very useful, if you can put those features to work. As a bulk emailer, its far cheaper than anything else I looked at and its based on volume.
