Hi

I am quite new to the world of Mac and more so , OSx

I need some help on something.

Does anyone know what file is changed when click I "Enable Fast User switching". I want to find this file so I can see the change that has been made to it. I am not getting very far using the "Find/File" tool in the Gui, and I am sure I have got the incorrect command line in the terminal session.

It would be helpful if someone knew what unix command line I can use to find this file also.

A million thanks in advance always.

Regards

Rephrasing and resubmitting this quiestion.

When I click on "Enable fast user switching" and enable it, is there a file that it writes that change to?

I assume that there is a preference file somewhere on the machine that has some code in it, which puts the tick in the Enable box.

I have been trying to find this file for days because I want to try and replicate it on to other machines running MAC OS x so that Fast USer switching is on by default.

The only files I have found that have been modified when i disable/enable FUS are

/Users/****/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systemuiserver.plist

and

/Users/****/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist

I have tried to use these files to switch the FUS feature on or off but it always seems to stay OFF even when these files exist in the same place aas they did on the template machine.

Any ideas much appreciated.

Regards

Jat
