Can I replace an old RAD with a fast RAD2 on an old system and have it work for my NRU11?

What kind of system are you working on? The software version of the system rather than the RAD determines what it will and will not work with.
If you put a FastRAD2 in place of an old RAD on an 824 for example, you can still only run up to Norstar Manager 3.7.

Yes you can install a FastRad on an 8X24 but true you will NRU 3.7 to do backups or use browser.
With NRU 11 you can only use the Simulated Telset on the 8X24.
