I have an animation I created in 3ds max 6 and exported as a .W3d file. It has several human figures acting out a play in an architectual enviroment. I play and pause the whole animation in Director 8.5 using the .animationEnabled = true /false commands. Is there a way to give the user the option of backing up or fast fowarding the whole animation (not just one model)? In other words, I would like to provide video style buttons for skip forward and reverse and not just play, pause, rewind.

You can control the speed of animation by changing playRate. Access playRate using this format:
--
member("some_w3d_member").model("some_model").keyframePlayer.playRate
--
The normal playRate is 1.000. More than 1.000 means faster and less than 1.000 means slower animation. If it is set to below 0 then the animation will be reversed.
