I have dedicated connection between Teradata box and Win2003 server via
Gigabit card. I'm, performing simple export SELECT * FROM in
fastexport.

The effect is that export takes approximately 5 x longer that fastload
of the same data to the table.

Any suggestions?

Fast export is used to export the data from a table, while fastload is used to load an empty table, then i dont understand why you are talking about fastload while exporting data .can you be more specific.

regards,
balaji.

I think (s)he's trying to say that if fastload can load the table in , say, 5 minutes.... why is fastexport taking 25 minutes to export the table.
