AMD 1.2g Athlon, Win98SE, 3Com 905b-TX 10/100 NIC, connected to 100M LAN. Can not get a data transfer over the LAN any faster than 80K/sec.. All the other PC's have accomplished between 5meg - 8meg/sec. I've switched NIC's, Cables and PCI slots. RWIN set to 56400, MaxMTU to 1500, MSS 7240, still slow on the LAN.. however, outside of the LAN, it will achieve normal speeds on a T1 downloading data up to a respectable 150K+/sec... Any ideas?? I am sooooo stumped! GoOdwEb's Internet Cafe

Sounds like the switch or the hub you are plugged into has the port set for autonegotiate. Set your card to whatever the port will do and then set the port on the hub/switch to match.
