a user in a remote office told me when she calls external phone number xxx-xxx-xxxx her display simply goes blank and the call "disappears" (no ringing, nothing). The same thing happens when I try to dial the number from my own office. When I call this number from my cell phone I get a fast busy. Why wouldn't I get a fast busy from my PBX as well? I get nothing. The call just seems to vanish. Both these offices recently switched carriers so is the issue with them? if this number is no good for whatever reason I would think I'd get a fast busy like I do when I call it from my cell phone. thanks for your input.

fast busy one on phone number

depends on the trouble on the far end.. if you put a 400 ohn ground on an analog line it will answer the calland then hang up, causing the same problem you describe. the sell carrier might detect that and return atb (fast busy) try other numbers in the same area code/ office
