I have written 2 FAQ's for VB and they have been rated surprisingly low. I want to learn all that I possibly can so I am open to all constructive criticism. I do not have a problem with the low ratings, but I do think that they should be commented on. If a FAQ is poorly written, or worse yet, if it is incorrect, the author is responsible for making the appropriate corrections. This is especially true since these FAQ's are here for the benefit of all users.

The low ratings have left me somewhat concerned. I would appreciate if some of you more seasoned programmers would take a look at the FAQ's and provide me some feedback. I am not looking for ratings, I just want to make sure that they are accurate. If you have a better solution, please let me know so I can remove mine from the FAQ list.

Windows API: List all applications / processes currently running
Windows API: Shutdown Reboot / Logoff Windows NT

Thank you!
The FAQ question allows users to send you comments via the email link, so if they wanted to comment, they would, if you need to make a statement like this, you can add it to the end of your fAQ.
Karl
kb244@kb244.8m.com
<a href=
Experienced in , or have messed with : VC++, Borland C++ Builder, VJ++6(starting),VB-Dos, VB1 thru VB6, Delphi 3 pro, Borland C++ 3(DOS), Borland C++ 4.5, HTML,Visual InterDev 6, ASP(WebProgramming), QBasic(least i didnt start with COBOL)

Don't be concerned about the "low" ratings. Tek-Tips users, as a whole, are very conservative. I have seen Tip-Masters selected with only one vote (nobody else received more than one vote that week). You might expect the same with the FAQ rating system.

I read the "List all applications / processes currently running" and gave it a rating of "6". I didn't rate it "10" just because I contributed to it. I gave it an honest evaluation by my conservative standards.

<a href= plain black box
I definitely appreciate the honesty. Again, I was not concerned so much about the rating, but more about the reasons it recieved a low rating. I just wanted to make sure they were not erroneous. And, as always, I am looking to improve upon my skills through the constructive criticism of others.

Thanks again!
