Although we visit Trolley Square frequently, we are not aware that any of our family/friends were there last night during the tragedy. But the six that died were the family and friends of a lot of people, so the carnage is no less a tragedy just because we were not affected personally.

The shooter (who was one of the fatalities) was described as "an angry young 18-year-old". It shows that if someone is intent upon wreaking havoc in public or private, there are not many places safe from that type of behaviour.
