We have a superstack II 3c16465a at our office. Recently the fan is getting louder and causing a problem for one of our staff who had the bad luck in getting the area where the switch is located. This same switch in the past has heated up to the point where the switch has reset. I now wonder if this switch is about to fail for good?

The only real reason for failure would be if the switch gets too hot. The best bet would be to replace the fan (if you are handy with screwdriver!) of it might be time to upgrade ;o)

I'm surprised at how noisey our superstack is. Since it is aging a bit I'm tempted to mod it and switch out the fans on it. Since one of my hobbies is overclocking and casemodding, this will be a fun project. =)

They sell high quality quiet fans out there, you should be able to replace the cheap fans with some better quality ones which will shut it up and keep it cooler.
