Hi guys!

I have a test bench to learn the operation of voip in routers cisco. I have a 1750 router with FXS interface and a 3640 router with FXO interface. I connected a line’s PBX in a port FXO, a telephone set in a port FXS and set up the two routers. I can make calls to PBX extensions and receive calls from the PBX. However, when I simulate a call from the PBX to the extension configured on the FXS port and then cancel the call, a telephone set stays still ringing until the call is answered. What's wrong? Missing some setting?

Thanks!

Hi,

The symptom you are experiencing is a well know problem with analogue fxo cards, the cards have no way of detecting the line has been dropped once it goes off hook, but you can tweak the time to a minimal so that it resets quickly enough if no signal is received on the line. It something to do with whether you are using ground start or loop stat. Its been a long time since I looked at analogue line but that is the rough explanation.
You might get more help in the Voip/Voice/video section here
