False Positive potential rootkit Windows Live Messenger

I need to document that these are false for a client.
(Read, I need to cover my butt because someone is accusing someone else of wrongdoing)

I am told, although I have not found evidence, that it has to do with the nudge feature in the new messenger software.

Potential root kit detected and all the detections went back to the messenger directory.

If anyone has any reading material I would be most grateful.
Have been Googling for two hours already.
