Fake extensions for rerouting purposes

You can use hot-desk ACD agent ID as a fake extension for rerouting purposes. It doesn't take any licenses and doesn't require to have any ACD sets configured in the system. There is no any specific purpose for it, just FYI
 
I use hunt groups, works fine for me.

Hunt groups chew up resources, though, so on a large system you may not have HG's to spare. In that case, this is a nice alternative.
 
I've never hit the limit so I never considered it an issue. I can also see a benefit of having the extensions visible in the same form as the "Real" extensions.

I am set in my ways but amenable to change.

I use ACD Paths, this way i can route calls to different night mailboxes - than one you may have set for the day service.
