Failure to Update Number of Pages Field 1

I am using MS word 2000 v9.0.6926 SP3.
When I insert the field for number of pages in a document, it fails to show the correct number until I "select all" F9.

Any I had this problem on my previous computer and someone gave me a solution unfortunately my computer died suddenly!

Anyone know a fix?

Under Tools, Options, Print, select Update Fields. When you switch to Print Preview or actually print, the fields will update.
