Hi all,
Whenever I try to install Windows XP Pro on my AMD Athlon(TM) 1GHz PC, somehow it always does not go through. The system used to be on Windows 98 platform with no problems. I tried upgrading Windows 98, re-formating HDD, redoing the partitioning and clean install to no avail.
In all cases, the installation/upgrade will begin with loading all the drivers. Once it comes to the Starting Windows screen, it hangs.
My system specs are as follows :
AMD Athlon(TM) 1Ghz
256MB Ram
ELSA Gladiac 311 Video Card
BTW, when I tried to clean install Windows ME / 2000, there is an error saying something about disk compression or disk caching utility. I have no idea if this may be the same cause in this case. How should I go about solving this if it is indeed the problem?
Thanks and regards,
John
