I'm attempting to set up a VPN between 2 Windows 2000 Pro computers on the same network. Everything works fine if I use PPTP, but if I attempt to use L2TP I get the following error:
Error 768: The connection attempt failed because of failure to encrypt data.
Previously I had received errors about not haveing certificates, so I set up an internal Microsoft Certificate Server & obtained a client sertificate on the "client" and a server certificate on the "server". That did away with the client messages, but now I get the message above.
I've also tried connecting to a Windows 2000 Server, but get the same error. I've left all the settings as default except the one to specify that I'm conneting to a L2TP server.
Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
Jeff
