Failure of Multiple Session VPN

Hello ... Recently I've made attempts to connect two VPN sessions from the same remote network without success.

Two users in the same office (on the same LAN) require access. Only one can work at a time with this problem.

When I try to log on a second PPTP (w/CHAP) session, the first session is booted off. It happens regardless of the user profile that attempting to log on.

I'm using a SNAPGEAR PRO as the VPN router.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

kovacsa

what is wrong is that your router doesn't only allows one vpn tunnel for passthrough

i ran into this problem when i first starting doing vpns

you need a better router
i try to stick with Cisco, but they can be expensive
There is a NetGear Router that allows up to 8 pass-through VPN tunnels that is about $100 at BestBuy

if your clients are using a CLIENT-SIDE VPN application
(such as Cisco Secure VPN Client or MS VPN Client) going through a router or a firewall to reach the destination network, you need to find out how many tunnels that the router allows for VPN PASS-THROUGH when purchasing, because many lower-model routers only allow for one.

Get Connected - I.T.

Hey GConnect ... here is the feature list of the router in question ... it does state you can have up to 10 PPTP client tunnels. I know for a fact, that when we were doing these tests, we had far less than 10 sessions.

Any further suggetions?

Thanks in advance,

yes well the problem is that it allows 10 different pptp tunnels, as long as the 10 tunnels are to 10 different servers. smc routers are the same. From that weblink it looks like you can setup the router as the endpoint rather then as a passthrou. I would give that a try.
