Can you please help?

I have been using 1-2-3 for my houshold a/cs for years without any problems.Suddenly where an alteration to one of the contributary numbers, the total doesn't change.

As an example
C10 is a total of C1..C9
G10 is a total of G1..G9
H10 is a total of C10 minus G10

any alteration in those two ranges would change the tatal of that range, plus the final total on H10

This now doesn't work.

Can anyone PLEASE HELP

Thanks

Hi Shirtsy,

By your description, you imply that there's nothing wrong with the formulas.

If indeed the formulas are OK, then it would strongly appear that the problem is that your "re-calculation mode" is set to "manual".

If this is the case, then you have two options:

1) If this setting was intentionally set to "manual", then hit the "Calc" key <F9>. This will update all formulas in the workbook. It would be reasonable to have intentionally set the calculation mode to "manaul" if the workbook has a considerable number of formulas that would otherwise cause a noticeable slowdown in the time it takes to enter a new number. With calculation mode set to "automatic", re-calculation of ALL the workbooks formulas takes place each and every time an entry is made.

2) If the workbook has a smaller number of formulas that do NOT cause a degradation in the calculation time when calculation mode is set to "automatic", then one should leave (or change) the setting to "automatic".

To change the calculation mode, use (from the menu):
File - User Setup - 123 Preferences - Recalculation. Then change from Manual to Automatic.

If you happen to have Lotus 123 release 5, then use (from the menu): Tools - User Setup - Recalculation.

Hope this helps :)
