Hi all,

I have an old PC (Pentium, 40MB RAM, 523MB HD,...)
But I always get this error when I'm starting this computer:
Failure fixed disk 1. After this error the computer starts the scandisk.

What can I do to avoid this error. Is it possible to solve such a problem? or is this computer just to old.

The operating system is Win95.

Sounds like disk is on its way out. What happens after scandisk (eg, does it boot)? Could get diagnostic tool from disk manufacturer's site. How much time do you want to spend on this?

well, this computer isn't in use anymore. He was way to slow. But I just want to know what the problem was. I didn't know the error i got. So I could fix this problem when i'm getting this one on a better computer.

thanks in advance.
